Proceeds from the St. Leo's School 5K benefit the children's educational computer programs at St. Leo's school. 250-350 runners participate.

Hospice of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County is a community non-profit organization committed to providing medical, emotional, spiritual and social support of patients and families facing the physical and emotional challenges of a life-limiting illness. Hospice services are available to all people in need, regardless of diagnosis, prognosis or treatment. Last year, Hospice of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County cared for more than 800 patients and families, making over 35,00- visits to homes throughout the Triad.
The individuals and businesses who participate in the annual Hospice Hope Run 10K share in the mission of caring, as their generosity enables individuals in our community to enjoy a better quality of life, comfortably at home with less pain. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will be applied toward patient care. About 250 runners and 100 walkers participate in the event.

Proceeds from the Ultimate Runner benefit the Twin City Track Club and help fund the club's ongoing operations.
July Events
Proceeds from the 4 Runners Only Beat the Heat 5K.go towards funding the ongoing operations of the Twin City Track Club. In addition to covering the costs associated with the event, money raised if use to fund new equipment and support educational seminars. By having club sponsored fund raising events, the Twin City Track Club is able to provide low cost services to support fund raising activities by other charitable organizations.
August Events
Brenner Children's Classic 5K The money from Brenner Children's Classic 5K Road Race will be used to fund the Brenner Children's Home Ventilation program, which allows physicians and other clinical staff to monitor children who are paralyzed and on ventilators 24 hours a day, while they are at home. Brenner Children's treats terminally ill children regardless of their parent's financial status.
The Pioneer School Challenge has awarded over $40,000 in electronic equipment, cash, and prizes to schools registering the most runners and walkers for their school. Now, the top six schools receive $4,000 in cash awards with $1,500 awarded to the top fund raising school. We will be promoting the tenth School Challenge in 2002. From race proceeds, $72,500 has been donated directly to charities. Beginning in 1993, $500 was given to Camp Carefree, a Pioneer sponsored camp. From 1994 through 2001 $72,000 was given to Brenner Children's Hospital and Health Services. As you can see, the race generates revenue for charities and schools while encouraging participants of all ages to run or walk for a good cause.
